Alliteration Adds Artistry
noun the occurrence of the same letter or sound at the beginning of adjacent or closely connected words.
I find using alliteration a fun mind puzzle, not only in writing but using it in conversation. A friend and I came up with a game we dive into randomly, where we start using, in proper context, a letter to use in our conversation using alliteration. It can get quite amusing when we use it in a group of people who are not aware that we are doing it.
A few years back, there was a group coming into town for the first time for a show, and I wanted to have fun with a promotional post, since I had invested time setting up the gig for them. I came up with the letter 'V', and my house mates and I brainstormed words that I might puzzle together into a semi-coherent verse to attract some attention. Here is the result, which does make a fair bit of sense read with an imaginative mind:
A vision of virtuous virtuosos
Venerated the voluminous vortex
with vulnerable verve
and vital vibration
